I actually allready know what I want to be for Halloween this year. The main character from the movie Tokyo Gore Police!
(Excuse the crap quality of the pic ><)
This movie is so funnily bizarre, and the main character is majorly hot. How I am supposed to get a fake katana that looks real enough, and how I'm gonna fix my hair, I have no idea, but I'll figure it out. At least the rest is doable I think ^^ Let's hope it works out.
I was thinking about trying to have a backup plan, but I can't seem to find an idea that I could properly pull off *sigh* So we'll go with whatever goes if this doesn't go as planned!

Zelda-mania!
Ever since I went to visit a childhood friend of mine when I was little and got to try out his Nintendo, I've been hooked on a certain series of games. From the title, you might allready have realised that it's the Zelda games. I never did manage to get through the first ones for Nintendo and Super Nintendo, but when I got my first Gameboy, I started playing all the Zelda games I could get obsessivly (Link's Awakening is a personal favourite). One Christmas I got (or, my sister and me, though she rarely used it) a Nintendo 64! I went out as soon as the stores opened and used my Christmas money to get Zelda: Ocarina of Time. As the years went by, Majora's Mask came out. There was also a lot of games for various Gameboys (Oracle of Seasons/Time). Time passed again, and I got a GameCube for Christmas. Waiting patiently for a new Zelda game to come out, I was extatic when Twilight Princess came, and I practically ran to the store when it opened to get it. And I must say, it was so worth it. I played whenever I could, even skipping school sometimes, but when you're the only gamer in a family of four people, you don't get much done. Long story short, I never finished it. I restarted it a few weeks ago though. Pretty, pretty game!
I finished it early this morning. and I must say I loved it all the way. I will probably play trough it more intensly to find all secret stuff and get all the sword skills and such, but for now I'm sated :) And I loved the way Midna looked when the curse was lifted *drools*
I was thinking to sit down with my Nintendo 64 and do the same with Majora's Mask, but I can't find the game. I think I might have brought it to my exboyfriend's place, and if so, it is surely gone. I'm hoping to get a hold of it again someday though :)
Since I couldn't play Majora's Mask, I decided to (once again) play through Ocarina of Time. That game is THE ONE Zelda game I never get tired of. True love!

I want a camera
I've been wanting a camera for ages. Not some fancy shit, just one I can take pictures of myself with when I do my makeup looks and such. My iPhone and webcam just doesn't cut it to be quite honest.
I went shopping with my mother now this weekend, ended up with quite a good haul of useful things! Two pair of black jeans, a sweater, wool pantyhose, socks. A drying rack, some boxes to store leftovers in, a hairdryer, a multi-purpose shaving machine, new lightbulbs and a nailclipper. I was lucky enough to get to go makeup-shopping as well, and ended up with a new foundation from MAC, a sheer loose powder, and a new mascara from Lancôme.
The makeup is more what I wanted to write about today. I've been longing to try out the foundations and such from MAC for ages. But I must say I was dissapointed with the service I got when getting one. Imagine this:
Pale, little Cara walks in. Explains that she needs a matte foundation that's good for dry skin, as well as a transluscent powder to set it with. The foundation ought to have moderate to full cover as I do modelling now and then, and do my own makeup before most of the shoots. And I'm pale, and not wanting to go all bronzy and shimmery. The first ones she finds for me are too dark, and the powder isn't transluscent, even though I specified that that's what I wanted. But she says "I think you should have more of a tan". Now. The woman telling me this is a 40+, over-baked and bronzed fake blonde with nails from here to hell. My opposite, to put it that way. I tell her calmly that I'm not after that. I like being pale, want something with good coverage and a matte finish, as well as a transluscent powder. From the looks of things at that moment, that is what I finally walked out with. But I still find it hard to believe that the products she sold me are meant to be matte. Feels like there's a bit too much shimmer for me when I look at myself in the mirror with proper lighting.
And I think I was right. Looking at MAC's own pages I found this: MAC Mineralize Satinfinish spf 15 foundation: A fluid foundation that blends the natural light-reflecting properties of micro-minerals with a smooth satin finish. Provides a low-to-medium buildable coverage with a slightly luminous look. Contains antioxidants vitamins C and E. Provides everyday SPF 15 sun protection. Long-wearing. Suitable for normal-dry skins.
Now..where did "low-to-medium buildable coverage" and "slightly luminous look" come into the picture when I asked for a foundation with a matte finish? I also mentioned that my previous foundation was a shade too dark and way too sparkly for me, and that was why I was getting something else. It's also for normal-dry skins. I'm a bit dryer than that, which was notable when applying it to my jawline and t-zone.
I'm not really complaining about the product in general. More about that I was sold the wrong product, after being told "I'm the makeup artist here, you should listen to my recommendations" by an old hag that looked like she'd baked in the oven then stuck her face in bronzer mixed with glitter. I might be going back some day soon to mention this, and ask what other foundation they have that might suit my complexion and goal better. Not that I can afford it for another three weeks, but I'll just have to make do I guess. At least the powder was what I was after. "Translucent, featherweight, ultra-fine, sublimely silky. Provides sheer, micro-fine finish. Mattes the skin but keeps its natural glow. Makes skin look almost naked."
The mascara you say? It's my Lancôme Définicils mascara. I've been using it for about half a year now, and love it to death. Perfect wand for my eyesize, and buildable volume. Love it!
Now to end this rant with this: I strongly dislike how many "experts" in their field mess up at my expense, not imagining that I know what I'm after. We're not all dummies you can trick into buying whatever YOU like.
But yes, I still want a camera. I can't seem to bother to do new makeup looks when I can't show anyone what I've done. I love doing it for myself, but there is a limit *giggle*

Makeup review: Stargazer Eyeshadow, P.Passion
(Pictures will come soon, the ones I took when I wrote this a few days ago got deleted from my computer by a mistake, soz!)
***
I apologize for not doing this earlier, I've been busy with moving and other personal issues, but here goes.
I was sent an eyeshadow to try out by www.gothica.no , and I must say I was sceptical at first. My experience with Stargazer makeup has been limited to watching 14 year old "goth" girls doing horrible white faces with black rackoon eyes, and so I thought "this can't possibly be any good".
I was somewhat wrong. I love the shade, though it's a bit warmer than the purples I usually use. I've tried a few different looks with it, and found a primer to be critical for it to stay on for longer than an hour or two, so I recommend a primer if you want it to stick all night. There was minimal falldown, and though it was somewhat hard to blend into a lighter shade, blending it with darker or black colours went nicely.
I won't compare it with other brands, seeing as I find the expensiver brands to be better in general, but this eyeshadow was very nice, and fits my budget perfectly ;)

Summer can be nice sometimes. I've gotten new friends. My room in my new place has a wide windowsill I can sit in and read. I've been able to go for walks in the nice weather with my lovely boyfriend Kristian. I've bathed in a lake. I've lain on a blanket, staring at the clouds. I even have bruises and scrapes and cuts on my legs and arms after rolling around on the ground, seeing as I got too drunk at a 3-day long wedding party (though we were only there for one night).
The good things and the good feelings are slowly seeping back into my life. Security and stability is slowly being established. I'm in a new city, with new friends and a new boyfriend, but it's getting to the point where I feel like it's a very good thing, and I deserve it.
I'm proud of myself. For being more happy. More often.

As usual it's long between posts in this one. I thought I'd put up a pic of the black and white makeuplook I did just now though. I'm on vacation in Greece, I'm a little bit more tanned than usual, and the light combined with this crappy webcam on my minilaptop won't make for the best pics, but here we go!

Now. Be so kind to as ignore the fact that my skin is having a breakout due to the heavy sunscreen I use, the fact that the lighting makes me look as pale as ever, and the fact that I managed to smudge my brows a bit. Oh, and the angle. It's not easy to take pictures with a bloody LAPTOP! But, uhm, yeah. It looks lovely IRL, true story!
The main reason I'm putting this out here is for my own sake. To make myself feel at least a bit better, and a tad creative, even though I really don't feel that way so. Therapy you know.

New things
So I finally got the MAC 217 brush I've been wanting for ages!
I..love it? And it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be, so I'll be getting more when summer comes :)
I needed a new foundation as well, so I got Clinique Super Moisture Makeup in 04. Ivory
My skin is being a bitch lately (pardon my language), and my entire t-zone as well as my cheekbones are dry and flaky. Due to stress I've got some impurities and such as well, but my concealer takes care of that ;)
So this is the foundation:
I also bought a new liquid liner from Sensai seeing as I lost mine. I'll probably find it again soon, that's how fate works for me, but I'll have two then *shrug* I won't cry if it turns out that way.
Mine is ofcourse black. I didn't notice when I copied the pic over that this one seems to be brown *shrug* Doesn't matter though, the pencil itself looks the same! <3
I'm...very pleased with today to say the least. In addition to this little makeup haul, I had dinner with my mother and boyfriend, munched on shaved ice with peach and sweet cherry for dessert, and had mango and cherry ice cream on the way home as well! I'm currently trying out a new ice tea I found at Deli de Luca. White tea with guava o.O Tastes jummy!
Twinkling out for now <3
